CLUB SERVICE PROJECTS

Coats For Kids:
Club purchases, wraps, and delivers winter coats to the Salvation Army for distribution to needy children at Christmas.  The Salvation Army furnishes us with a list of sex and sizes.
Rosewood Rest Home Events:

Each member is assigned 2-3 names of residents, sizes and wish list items and is responsible for buying birthday and Christmas gifts for those mentally challenged individuals whose families have all but abandoned them. We are invited to their Christmas party where we mingle with the residents and help Santa distribute the gifts. The club reimburses members if desired upon its receipt of gifts purchased.

Thanksgiving Baskets:
Members sign up for food items to purchase for the makings of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for 15 needy families. The club includes in each basket a $25 gift certificate to a supermarket for the purchase of a turkey and any additional items. The baskets are put together at the November meeting and subsequently delivered.  The club reimburses members if desired upon its receipt of items purchased.
Stepping Stone Project:

The club purchases needed toiletries for men and women who are in the transition unit of Steppingstone preparing to re-enter society after rehabilitation from drug abuse, etc.

Fall River Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen:
Two or three members volunteer the 2nd Thursday of each month to help set up, prepare and serve meals, and clean up at a local soup kitchen which on average caters to as many as 185 people in need of a nutritious meal every Tuesday and Thursday.

MAJOR FUND RAISER

Cash Raffle: Annual “300” Raffle…only 300 tickets are sold November through February. Cash prizes. Raffle drawn at business meeting in February.

Clamboil: This is one of our most yummy fund raisers! Each year we hold the clamboil at the Seekonk Rod and Gun Club. In addition to the great food that is served, we put together gift baskets which are raffled. We also hold a 50/50 raffle and a lottery tickets raffle and conduct a silent auction for 1 or 2 special items. It is a popular event. People bring their own beverages and we serve ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
